Thimbleberry is a native raspberry species that produces large, velvety, bright red berries with intense flavor—tart, aromatic, and sweet all at once. The berries are soft and fragile, best eaten fresh or made into jam soon after harvest. Leaves are large and soft, like a wild maple leaf, and the plant forms dense thickets through underground runners. Thrives in woodland edges and open clearings.
