Also known as Nangoonberry, Arctic Raspberry, or Nectarberry, ground cover raspberries create a mat of thick, thornless raspberry foliage only a couple inches off the ground, adorned with ruby red raspberries which are prized for their aroma and flavor. So prized is the nangoonberry, in Russia its name is the "berry of princes." The actual name nangoon comes from the Tlingit (native Alaskan) word "neigóon" meaning "jewel." It is not only a tasty fruit, but a very useful plant, allowing for multi-level fruit production from one area.

Fruit production aside, it is one of our prettier plants, with the emergence of foliage coming very early, a uniform bright green lawn of tiny raspberry leaves. In the fall you will be treated to gorgeous red and burgundies. Expect harvest in the summer. It is also our cold hardiest plant, down to zone 1. Requires two different varieties to pollinate.
