"Jeanne" Gooseberry

Selected for its high disease resistance, Jeanne is a sweet variety, an improvement over most varieties such as Captivator, and fruits sweeter than Hinnonmaki. Berries are large, slightly pear-shaped, and vibrantly bright red with a medium tart, highly sweet flavor. It is ideal for fresh eating, sauces, or deep red preserves with excellent shelf life. Bushes are slightly smaller than other varieties, with much less thorns and much higher yield per cane. Said to be the absolute newest variety on the market. Gooseberries are rich in vitamin C, soluble fiber, and polyphenols- supporting skin health, digestion, and blood sugar regulation. Jeanne is an upright grower and ripens midseason. Plant in full sun with good air circulation and well-drained soil for best results.
