"Cheropugy" Red Nanking Cherry
Reliable shipping
Flexible returns
A superior selection of Prunus tomentosa, Cheropugy produces small, vivid red cherries with reduced acidity, extra sweetness and more juice compared to other cherries. Nanking or otherwise. Especially enjoyable fresh. The cherries grow along the branch and ripen all at once, typically in early summer. No stem like typical cherries, making harvesting a breeze. Shrubs are highly ornamental, coated in early white cherry blossoms in spring before leafing out and becoming a staple hedge in any yard. Great for privacy hedges, wildlife borders, or edible landscaping. Relatively pest free. Fruits are loaded with vitamin C, potassium, and anthocyanins that aid in immune health, blood pressure regulation, and cellular repair. Cherries have also been reported to help with oxygenation of the blood as well as help regulating sleep, as they contain both melatonin and tryptophan.
