"Black Delicious" Black Raspberry

An improved black raspberry variety producing high yields of deep black, richly flavored berries with subtle floral notes. Excellent for fresh eating or processing into jams and syrups. Black raspberries are more savory and delicious than reds, and their roots are more tolerable of heavier soils, being native to areas like Indiana with heavy clay. The berries are extremely high in ellagic acid, anthocyanins, and other antioxidants shown to help fight inflammation, support eye health, and even protect against certain cancers. Canes are arching and may need trellising. Prune regularly to maintain airflow and maximize yield. Berries form on this years canes.
